Millions of BlackBerry users hit by outage - Millions of UK BlackBerry customers are facing a disruption to their messaging services after reported data outages from the smartphone's manufacturer Research in Motion. (RIM)
The service crashed at 11am GMT Monday and is currently affecting people who are reliant on their e-mail, BlackBerry messenger and GPS.
It seems that the rest of the world is also facing a similar problem with several global phone networks tweeted that their servers are down.
T-Mobile UK told their Twitter followers: "There is an issue with Blackberry services at present. RIM are investigating this at present."
So far, mobile carriers in Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, South Africa and India have also reported outages.
The areas affected are reportedly served by a RIM data centre in Slough.
Canadian company RIM said in a statement today: "Some users in EMEA [Europe, Middle East, and Africa] are experiencing issues. We're investigating, and we apologise for any inconvenience."
